Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, and I love it, even more, when I have everything that I need for the trip in one bag. Traveling has become easier with all of the new technology and apps out there, but you still need to be prepared before you leave home. Here are 5 travel essentials every woman should always have in her bag:
Travel wallet
A travel wallet is essential for any woman who travels. It should be small, light, and have enough room to fit your passport, cards, cash, and boarding pass. The best ones have a strap that you can wear around your neck so that it’s always accessible while you’re on the move. Even better if it includes RFID-blocking technology on the inside, so you don’t have to worry about someone stealing your identity via electronic pickpocketing.
A book
A book is a great way to pass the time. You can read in the airport or on the plane, and it’s even better if you have one you’ve already read before because then you have something to look forward to. If you haven’t read it yet, that’s okay too! While you’re waiting in line or while everyone else is getting ready for whatever event they’re going to and sitting around waiting for them, grab a good book and get lost in someone else’s world for an hour or so.
A good book will help pass those boring moments when there isn’t much going on and will keep your mind occupied with interesting stories during otherwise tedious waits.
Travel pillow
- Travel pillows are the best for airplanes. They’re especially great for long flights, as they can help you sleep better and more comfortably than leaning against an uncomfortable airplane seat.
- Travel pillows can be used to keep your neck cool in hot weather and even to prop up your feet while reading a book in bed or on the couch!
Extra undergarments
As a woman, you may sometimes be on your period or in the middle of that time of the month. You should always have a few extra pairs of underwear, as well as extra bras and leggings. You might even consider packing a spare pair of pants just in case you get caught off guard by your period while out and about.
Water bottle with a filter
You’re going to want a water bottle. You can’t go wrong with the classic plastic variety from your local gas station, but if you’re looking to upgrade your hydration game, we recommend getting a metal bottle with a filter. It will keep your drink tasting fresh and clean while keeping everything else in your bag safe.
It’s also important to consider what type of water bottle you prefer—some might be more useful than others depending on where you’re going and how much storage space is available in your bag (i.e., do you want something small enough that it fits easily into one of those side pockets?). Whatever kind of container works best for you, make sure it has an easy-to-open lid so that access isn’t too cumbersome when on the move!
